Profiles (for Users)

Use this screen to review/edit existing user profiles and to add or delete a new profile. A default profile is defined and you can inherit values from this default.

NOTE: You cannot change a profile name once it has been defined and saved.

To add a new profile:

  1. Click Add New.
    The Add New Profile screen opens.  

  2. Configure the parameters described below.

  3. Click Save.

 

Parameter

Explanation

Profile Name

The name of the user profile (alphanumeric).

Description

The description of the user profile.

Print Option

If several print jobs are waiting for the user, determine Sentinel behaviour:

  • System Defaults: Inherited behaviour from default profile as Select by keypad (i.e., the user selects which job to release).
  • Last document: When users swipe their ID card, they receive the most recent job requested. The order is LIFO (last in, first out).
  • All documents: User receives all jobs at once.
  • Select by keypad: After user identification, if more than two jobs are waiting for the user, they appear on the device LCD and the user can select which job to release. If only one print job is waiting, it prints automatically.

Default Printer

The printer to use by default.

Allow Web Release

Allows users to release print jobs via the Web interface. Can inherit behaviour from system default, defined in the default profile as Allow.

Allow Keypad Release

Allows users to release print jobs by entering their keypad code on the device controller. Can inherit behaviour from system default, defined in the default profile as Allow.

Quota Policy

The quota policy for this profile. Can inherit behaviour from system default, defined in the default profile as 0.
Budget The budget allocated to this profile.
Profile Permissions Determines if users with this profile can perform these types of printing. For some of the types, when a printing type is enabled, then color can be enabled. For Scan Direct, if you allow scanning both sides of the page (duplex), then you can decide if the scanning is via the short or the long edge of the page.
